Capacity building

Capacity building, the process of building competencies in individuals, groups and organizations, should be a major component in the process of planning and implementing CWR conservation. It will contribute to sustained, improved performance and develop new knowledge, skills and attitudes, which lead to better practices in conservation planning and implementation. Capacity building is a long-term process which requires attendance from all participating parties in order to be truly successful. It includes human resource development, organizational development as well as institutional and legal framework development.

This section of the Crop Wild Relatives Portal provides guidance to improve individuals’ and organizations’ capacities to carry out activities relating to CWR conservation.
